The past 2 weeks has been pretty crazy here in Japan, we had the CEATEC (our coverage here CEATEC 2008), then the Tokyo Game Show, more news will come later today and Monday (our Coverage here Tokyo Game Show 2008). And today started in Japan the ROBO JAPAN 2008 !

So let’s Start with Wakamaru. This little “yellow” autonomous robot can be either controlled by voice commands, or if needed, you can literally control him thanks to a suit which will reproduce all your arms movement. (more Photo in the Gallery below)

Then we had the MANOI robot from Kyosho and its sister, which has you can try to mimic has much as possible the way that fashion models walks. ?Still from Kyosho you will find the “Evolta” robot powered by Panasonic Batteries, with only one goal, to climb a rope and never stop. Asimo, the Robot from HONDA also joined the event and show us its new trick like being capable to play soccer, as well as dancing for us. (more Photo in the Gallery below, as well as one of our HD video of the latest Asimo press conference : See more of the Honda Asimo Robot demo! )

Bandai, was introducing this year their up-coming best seller the NetTansorWeb. A Small robot which will be sold in Japan at the end of this year and which can be controlled either by a PC, on the Go from your mobile phone or any computer with internet access. Thanks to its small web-camera you will be able to see LIVE what your robot is watching at. (more Photo in the Gallery below)

The Excellent i-Sobot from Takara Tomy and Sanyo, was on display here as well with a lot of new colors available. (more Photo in the Gallery below, as well as one of our HD video of the i-Sobot dancing and moving around : i-SOBOT, TOMY’s super tiny robot! VIDEO Inside!)

Futaba Robotics, displayed its usual robots as well as a very cute look a like fembot. (more Photo in the Gallery below)

The Flying Robot. Well I am sorry here but I really do not remember from which manufacturer this robot is coming from, but as you can see, this little one can both walk and fly… And it even remind me of one of this Terminator flying robot with its 2 propeller on the side. Here again I would like to apologize but I am not sure from which company this system is coming from but basically this Japanese engineer is taking control of a robotic arm thanks to the glove he is wearing. With its display goggles he is also capable to “see” what the arm is watching at and get a better control over this one. (more Photo in the Gallery below)

Crawling over the floor of the ROBO JAPAN 2008 we came across two animal robot look a like where one will automatically put itself in defense mode in a sphere like shape and the other one a Scorpion model will attack you if in danger. (more Photo in the Gallery below)

Do you remember the “creepy” Cat Robot from SegaToys? well Guess what here you are its dog counterpart ! We thought the cat was a little bit plain stupid when we played with it, but this dog is WAY cooler, and will offer you a lot of fun if you hate having to walk a dog but desperately need someone everyday at home… You can also get a girl/boyfriend but well who are we to judge ? There were also several funky walking robot, where one was looking like a spider, another one was some-kind of square shape magic carpet, and several walking assist robot/system which allow disable kids or adult to move around freely. (more Photo in the Gallery below)
