Openmoko Neo FreeRunner Mobile Phone Coming 5 July

The Openmoko Neo FreeRunner phone works on 850MHz or 900 MHz Tri-band GSM frequencies worldwide. Sporting an oval shape and Black color, it weighs 6.5 ounces.
Openmoko Neo FreeRunner has core software for recording contacts, SMS and dialing. It runs on GNU/Linux and features AGPS, GPRS 2.5G, 2.8 inch 480 x 640 VGA Touchscreen, 128MB WSDRAM, 256MB NAND Flash, WiFi (802.1 1b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 and Two 3-axis Motion Sensors.
Its new software will be appearing for the first time in Linux world during August. After periodic downloads, the software suite will take full advantage of the Phone’s Hardware Platform. The Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community and developers can create versions of this Neo FreeRunner phone. The CAD files will make it easier for the developers to change the design of this phone.
The Openmoko Neo FreeRunner phone is priced at Rs. 17,150 ($399). It is already available through distributors in the EU, North America and India.
