BenQ To Shift Focus From Handsets To MIDs

Word has it that BenQ might eventually pull itself out of the dog-eat-dog handset market, focusing on the Mobile Internet Device (MID) segment instead. There is no official word from the company confirming this news, but BenQ has released a refutation instead. There will still be new cell phones released according to customer requests. It would be interesting to see just how many cell phone manufacturers there will be in the future, as Motorola’s position don’t look too hot at the moment either. Will it ultimately end with just Samsung, LG, Nokia, HTC and Apple as the major players? Time will tell.
