Panasonic Is Going To Expand 58, 65-Inch Models Full HD Plasma TVs

Panasonic added a 58-inch (TH-58PZ800) and 65-inch (TH-65PZ800) model to its high-end PZ800 Series of VIERA Plasma TVs. The two new models feature Panasonic 11th generation panels ensuring beautiful colour reproduction and precise on-screen motion to provide superior picture quality.

Both models offer a natural contrast ratio of 30,000:1 as well as a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio making on-screen blacks not look grey or dark-grey. The two new models also includes Panaonic’s new V-Real Pro 3 signal processing technology which optimizes the performance of the display panel to render smooth, crystal-clear motion without compromising on delicate colours with rich graduation.

In addition, the new models come with Digital Cinema Colour. VIERA’s wide colour gamut covers 120% of the conventional HDTV colour standard. The result is a level of colour expression that can be made for any conceivable picture content.

Both models offer both V-Audio Surround, as well as SRS TruSurround XT. With V-Audio Surround, passive speakers as high as heating radiators deliver powerful, expressive bass sound. Especially for movie fans, the two new large screen plasma TVs are both equipped with four HDMI connections each that are capable of processing the 24 Hz signals typically used with movies.

With VIERA Link and HDAVI 3, any Panasonic AV device with the remote control can be operated easily. Regardless of whether this is a Panasonic DVD or Blu-ray player, HD camcorder or home cinema system, all of these units can be operated directly using the remote control that comes with the VIERA TV and a special screen menu.

The Panasonic TH-65PZ800 and TH-58PZ800 plasma televisions will be available for purchase from authorised dealers starting in October of 2008.
