After the HP EliteBook 2530p, Hewlett Packard has announced the expansion of its business notebook category with the launch of EliteBook 2730p. The company has also unveiled the stylish HP Compaq 2230s for professionals.

The EliteBook 2730p is said to be the ultra-thin tablet PCs, while the Compaq 2230s is an ultra-portable laptop.

Intended to provide top-rated performance, the HP EliteBook 2730p notebook PC flaunts its convertible tablet design that allow users to twist and convert the screen by easy navigation while globe-trotting. In terms of features, the pen-based tablet includes a touchpad, tablet buttons, a jog dial, an integrated DVD+/-RW drive and an optional ultra-slim battery accessory, which boasts to deliver a battery life of up to 12 hours.

Fueled by Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low-voltage (ULV) or low-voltage (LV) processors, the 2730p comes equipped with a 2 megapixel webcam, a business card reader software, an in-built HP NightLight that shines on the keyboard, a shock-resistant hard drive and spill-resistant keyboard.

Next is the HP Compaq 2230s notebook PC that weighs around 4.07-pound. The notebook sports a 12.1-inch diagonal widescreen display. Housed in a satin, reflective, black-on-black surface, the notebook employs Wi-Fi-certified wireless local area network (WLAN), an integrated Bluetooth, the cool HP 3D DriveGuard that acts as a safeguard for the included hard drive against bumps and drops.

The HP EliteBook 2730p retails for $1,670 (approx. Rs. 73,181) and is slated to hit the US market by early September. Users can purchase the HP Compaq 2230s series immediately in the US for a suggested price of $999 (approx. Rs. 43,777).
