Tokyo Game Show 2008 : Fifa 09 Hands-On

After talking about the new Winning Eleven 2009, we had to introduce you the new opus of the biggest Konami’s Rival, the New FIFA 09.

Last year, the EA sport game surprised lot of people, with new game play, more realistic and less arcade. So has Fifa bested Winning Eleven?

Well, regarding the graphics, I love it. I was impressed by the previous version, and yep, this new Fifa, once again, offers us a real pleasure to control your favorite player.

About the game play, the most known problem of this game… well, I like the possibility to turn defenders with interesting, improved dribbling, and ball control. You can place the ball where you want. Great management of collision, depending on physical attributes of the player. Good Management of team tactics. EA also improved the Goalkeeper intelligence.

In general terms the game is neither too fast nor too slow. But, I was a bit disappointed regarding the shoot in front of the keeper. I found the shooting were a little to guide. Winning Eleven remains better in this section.
Otherwise, you’ll finally be able to customize your controller pads as you want.

And the novelty concerned the improved Be A Pro mode allowing you to play up to 10 real players. The previous version was limited to five people. If you go to the TGS, and you’re a fan of football game, you should go to EA booth, where you can play with this mode.
Anyway, Fifa continues to catch up Winning Eleven, and become more and more interesting
